In addition
to competing at club nights each Monday, swimmers are encouraged to participate in
swim meets. For information
about swim meets and access to official results etc. see the Swimming WA
website. The
Swimming WA Almanac provides details of all meets
for the season.
Important
To
give the Swim Meet Officer sufficient time to check, collate and submit meet entries,
entry cards are required
earlier than the official
closing dates specified on the Swimming WA website or Almanacs. Please
refer to club closing dates listed at the bottom of club's newsletter or check with the
Swim Meet Officer. Places in a swim meet cannot be guaranteed
if entries are late. Please hand the cards to the
Melville Swimming Club President or Swim
Meet Officer before the closing date.
How to nominate for a
meet
-
The swimmer must be a registered,
financial member of the club.
-
All swim meet entries
need to be signed by our registrar.
-
You need to pay the
required entry fees when you hand in your Entry.
-
Download and fill in a Swim
Meet Entry Card and (believe it or not) print male
applications on blue paper and females on pink!
-
Please refer to the
"How to Enter a Swimming WA Meet" section of the Swimming
WA Almanac.
-
The first bit of
information you require is a "Swimmer ID" sometimes
also referred to as a "Reg No:
All registered swimmers
have a Swimming WA "Swimmer ID" that is in the format
LLLFFDDMMYY where:
- LLL is the first 3 letters of the Last name,
- FF is the first 2 letters of the First name
- DD is the Day of birth
- MM is the Month
- YY is the Year of birth
for example, Karen Smith born on 25th of March 1995 would have a
Swimmer ID of SMIKA250395
-
DOB is "Date
Of Birth"
-
The Meet Name is
the title given the meet as published in the Swimming WA Almanac.
-
The Club is
Melville (not the name of the club hosting the meet)
-
Entry Time is the swimmer's personal best
time. This can either be the seed time from our Club
Night Results or from Personal
Bests - Swimming WA. Please use Long Course PBs for LC
events and Short Course PBs for SC events. Warning:
some meets have strict qualifying times, please refer to the
"policy on the use of club times" at Swimming
WA.
-
Qualifying Time
is the time that swimmers have to have achieved in order to swim the
event. This is not always required for every meet.
-
Achieved At will
be either the venue specified on the Personal
Bests - Swimming WA. If not, then put "Club night
trial, Melville Swimming Club" and the date it was achieved.
